Supreme Leader appoints new IRGC commander

Tehran, April 21, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a decree appointed Brigadier General Hossein Salami as new commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
In his decree, Supreme Leader appreciated Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari for his valuable efforts.
He also expressed hope for boosting IRGC all-out potentials and its readiness in all fields.
Salami had earlier been the Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
