Iran to reciprocate US forces' acts: SNSC Spox

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, April 9, IRNA -- Spokesman of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said following the recent US decision about the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran now sees American forces and military bases in the region in a different light and is determined to monitor and reciprocate any unusual behavior on their behalf.

Keivan Khosravi said that US decision to Blacklist the IRGC is regarded as a fruitless measure by a country which is the biggest sponsor of terrorism against the most successful ant-terrorist force.

He added that the US President's choice is more considered as a propaganda campaign.

The rift inside the US governing body and particularly the objection and fear expressed by Pentagon and CIA about the consequences of this decision are the serious impediments on its implementation, Khosravi noted.

He went on to note that Iran has since long ago made necessary preparations and predictions to cope with the possible consequences in appropriate time.

Iran has earlier warned against the consequences of US adventurist act and has made it clear through its media that will reciprocate it, he reiterated.

The balance between extremists and moderate officials in the ex-US administration prevented implementation of this decision but now Trump, being a maniac person, disregards its consequences because people are not important for him.

Meanwhile earlier, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi described US recent decision as a 'strategic error' and 'a serious development' between Tehran and Washington and said it will face firm and clear-cut response.

He added that the Iranian Foreign Ministry has suggested the Supreme National Security Council to blacklist US Central Command called CENTCOM for their support of terrorists and also for war crimes.

The United States has been plotting anti-Iran measures for forty years now, but the Iranian nation has stood against these measures and will strongly support the IRGC forces.
On Monday, Trump administration designated Iran's IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization.
