Iran unveils its first homemade waterjet engine

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran's first homemade waterjet engine produced by Iranian Ministry of Defense's Marine Industries Organization with cooperation of related Iranian universities was unveiled on Monday.
On the sidelines of the unveiling ceremony, Iranian Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Amir Hatami said, Iran has access to international waters with many opportunities in marine areas.
"Using these opportunities entails marine power which possessing marine facilities and equipment is one of its requirements," the minister added.
"As we have acquired technical capabilities to design and produce such facilities, we are able to produce different types of the engine," general Hatami said.
