Navy commander: Iran, Russia to boost cooperation in future

Tehran, December 25, IRNA -- Commander of Iran's Army Naval Force declared that the cooperation of naval forces of Iran and Russia in the future will further develop.
After meeting Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vice Admiral Osipov lgor Vladimirovich, Admiral Hossein Khanzadi called the center of the talks as the development of naval cooperation between the two countries which from the past has made a good progress.
He added, 'We are looking to accelerate and develop cooperation in the two geopolitical fields of the Caspian Sea and the Southern Fleet.'
The Naval Force commander of the Army said, 'The focus of negotiations with the Russian authorities was based on interactions at sea in the areas of operations, technical, training, holding tactical exercises and anti-piracy exercises in the South Sea.'
Admiral Khanzadi reminded, 'As in the past, cooperation with Russia has been developing in the future.'
'We hope that these relationships will further develop in the interests of collective security, particularly in South Sea.'
