Iran unveils its new anti-mine, anti-ambush AFV "Toofan"

Tehran (ISNA) – An anti-mine and anti-ambush armored fighting vehicle known as "Toofan" (storm) made by Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics and its production line were unveiled and delivered to Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Explaining the features of the armored vehicle, Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami said, "Designing and producing Toofan was based on the need of armed forces in possessing a product capable of travelling in high speed, moving on steep slopes, and breaking through barriers".
"Toofan is an anti-mine and anti-ambush 4*4 vehicle, resistant to steel-core bullets," General Hatami added.
Explaining other features of the new product, the Iranian defense minister said, "It is capable of carrying 10 people, passing over barriers up to 50cm high, and passing through water canals with the depth of 1.5m, and the price of vehicles of this class is up to $500,000".
