Iran's upgrades capacity for tank spare parts manufacturing: Cdr

Tehran, Oct 2, IRNA -- Iranian Army now enjoys an ever growing potential in spare parts as is testified by considerable growth in manufacturing spare parts for tanks, a senior commander said on Tuesday.

The measures taken by the Army's Ground Force for promotion of the industry for manufacture of military tank spare parts is satisfactory, Commander of Iran's Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kiyoumars Heydari said while inspecting a tank-manufacturing factory.

He also urged close cooperation with academic elites for accessing the state-of-the-art knowledge of science and technology.

The priority for the tank-manufacturing factory of the Army is self-sufficiency in production and maintenance, the commander said.

All machinery and equipment are based on indigenized know-how for manufacturing overhauling spare parts, according to the general.
