China spox: Iran Deal must be kept

Beijing, Sept 27, IRNA -- Iran nuclear deal is an important international agreement and must be kept, said the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman on Thursday.
'Safeguarding an accord which is considered an international document is actually safeguarding the international rules and laws,' said Geng Shuang in reaction to the UN Security Council meeting on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
He said that Iran Deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is an international achievement and has had an important role in peace and stability in the world.
At the same time, Wang Yi, the Chinese foreign minister, supported the deal and trade with Iran in the UNSC meeting and on the sidelines of the 73rd UNGA.
He said that the deal was the fruit of attempts made by big countries and helped the peace and non-proliferation.
Yi added that the problems of the worlds cannot be solved with selected and double standards and the UNSC should be the biggest reference for keeping peace in the world.
