Qom, Sept 6, IRNA -- Iranian Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier Qasem Taghizadeh praised the country's domestically-developed Bavar-373 air defense system, saying it has more capabilities compared with the Russian-made S-300.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Taghizadeh said Bavar 373 has successfully passed all its final tests and after being put into operation it will enhance Iran's defensive power.
Bavar-373 is an Iranian designed long-range mobile air defense system unveiled in August, 2016.
Bavar-373 is enjoying Iranian domestic modern technology, he added.
He also said that a domestically-made satellite is expected to be launched within months.
Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister for Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Reza Talaei Nik, had announced that Bavar 373 air defense system is at its final stage.
The system is beyond [the Russian-made] S-300, and has a higher technical and production capability in the defense industries.
