Rouhani censures Trump for quitting negotiations.
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA -- President Hassan Rouhani said late Monday reprimanded US President Donald Trump for withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal, saying that he turned his back to negotiations and his conducts are against the Iranian nation.
In a live televised speech late Monday, he added that the Iranian nation has always welcomed talks, if the parties are sincere in practice.
Asked how one shows sincerity, he said that talks along with sanctions are meaningless, as sanctions are against Iranian children, the sick and all the Iranian nation, and this is contradictory.
"One who mounts pressure on the Iranian nation and discourages others from making interaction with Iran, it will harm not only the Iranian nation, but also the companies dealing with them," he said.
"If the US is ready to hold talks with Iran, we are ready to sit down for talks about how it wants to pay damages to the Iranian nation," Rouhani said.
