US contradicts itself when it comes to Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, July 31, IRNA -- The US secretary of states, on Tuesday, contradicted the US president when listing several pre-conditions in order to negotiate with Iran.
'We've said this before,' Mike Pompeo told CNBC, adding the US President Donald Trump' wants to meet with folks to solve problems. If the Iranians demonstrate a commitment to make fundamental changes in how they treat their own people, reduce their malign behavior, can agree that it's worthwhile to enter into a nuclear agreement that actually prevents proliferation, then the president said he's prepared to sit down and have the conversation with them.'
Such remarks are 180-degree away from what Trump said in a press conference with Italy's prime minister that he would meet with Iran's leaders 'anytime they want.', without pre-conditions, just two hours prior to Pompeo's interview.
Trump talks about Iran-US discussion while he, affronting UN, EU and the whole world, quit the world-indorsed Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as Iran Deal and returned the sanctions on Iran.
He has repeatedly said that he is looking for 'a real deal' with Iran, whereas he hasn't kept the ones he had with Iran and other countries.
