Iran condemns New York court's verdicts against Iran

Tehran, May 28, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that Islamic Republic strongly condemns and rejected US judicial authorities' absentee, lopsided, politically-motivated and baseless rulings as extraterritorial and unlawful.
He further noted that issuing such verdicts which are not based on solid evidence proving Iran's involvement in September 11 attacks and as the American official reports admit that perpetrators of the terrorist incidents were US regional allies amounts to mocking not only international legal system but also the US people, especially the survivors and victims of the incident.
The Islamic Republic has announced its strong official protest to the US government through official channels, Qasemi said, noting that issuing such illegal rulings is flagrant violation of acknowledged international laws, regulations and procedures.
Iran reserves the right to pursue the case and counter it effectively and call for compensations to that effect, he said.
