Iran not to yield to US excessive demands: Iranian security official
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, May 27, IRNA -- Recently, the US's blusters have multiplied, but Iran won't yield to their excessive demands, said the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.
'Naming the American plan a new strategy is not right; it is not new; it is neither a plan nor a strategy,' said Ali Shamkhani to Al-Jazeerah.
Shamkhani said, 'Paying careful attention to the roots of the US' withdrawal from Iran Deal, one can easily see that such moves root in Iran's not surrendering to the US will.'
'Such moves are not limited to the Donald Trump's administration; to coax the general public, Barack Obama also would lie and say that they lead Iran to the path the US wanted without a single bullet being shot,' said Shamkhani.
When Trump pulled out of the deal, he expected three things to happen: one, the EU follow the US; two, other counties join them; three, US people back him. But none of them happened, added Shamkhani.
Saying that the EU believes that it will be harmed a lot if the internationally-confirmed Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action gets destroyed, he added that only the Zionist regime, and its followers, i.e. Saudi Arabia, Emirates, and Bahrain obeyed the US. Even 70% of the US citizens disagreed Trump's decision, according to polls.
The US started the negotiations after it realized that sanctions and military action don't work on Iran; they have analyzed Iran eight-year defense and made sure that military moves to limit Iran is not possible. They also know that Iran's nuclear knowledge is totally domestic and is not destroyable, said the top security official.
Regarding Iran's presence in Syria, Shamkhani said Iran is in Syria to fight terrorism at the demand of the Syrian legal government and will stay there as long as demanded, adding that defeating Daesh was not related to the US-led coalition, whatsoever; Iran, Russia and Syria's cooperation defeated the US-made terrorist group.
That's Iran's unchangeable strategy. Defending the oppressed Palestinian against the Zionists, supporting Kuwait against Saddam Hussein's invasion, and helping Iraq to fight Daesh were also done according to that strategy.
'As the US ignores internationals legal norms, it won't accept the will of people of countries, either. It didn't agree with the international will and vote about Palestine; it moved its embassy to the Holy Quds contrary to UN resolutions and paved the way for the Zionist infanticidal regime of Israel, which is againt international rules.'
'There is no rationale to negotiate with a country that is disloyal to its commitments. The US de facto tore Iran Deal when it pulled out of it. Of course, it had already violated it many times.'
'Iranian missile indusrty is completely domestic and defensive, and we won't ask for permission to expand our conventional defensive power.'
He also said that Iran is not after expansionism, but the Zionist regime is being equipped with F-35 jet fighters, different kinds of missiles, and advanced weaponry.
Iran believes that the EU should have more strongly condemned the US and stood against its withdrawal from the JCPOA, Shamkhani said.
Regarding Saudi moves in the region, he said that there are some questions the Saudis need to answer: Why do they support the terrorists? Why are they silent about the Zionists crimes? Why did they lay siege to Qatar? What is the root of the Saudi-Qatari dispute?
He also added, 'When the US forces enter the Persian Gulf, they say on their radios that they are entering the valley of horror. We do nothing especial there, but if anyone invades our waters, we will counter them.'
