Beijing committed to save JCPOA: Spokesman
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Beijing, May 21, IRNA -- China is committed to save the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and G5+1 in 2015, China Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday.
China urges all signatories to the JCPOA except the US to be bound to their obligations enshrined in the nuclear deal, Lu Kang told reporters on Monday.
He noted that Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Qun will attend the JCPOA commission meeting in Vienna on Friday.
US President Donald Trump announced last Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
