Syria condemns US decision to withdraw from JCPOA
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, May 9, IRNA -- Syria strongly condemned the US president's decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal reached between Iran and G5+1 (US, UK, Russia, France, China plus Germany) in 2015.
'Syria strongly condemns the US president's decision which proves once again the US non-commitment to the international agreements and conventions," an official source at Syria's Foreign and Expatriates Ministry told Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Tuesday.
It added that the international reactions to the US decision which condemn and denounce it shows isolation of the US and its wrong policies.
"Syria which renews its full solidarity with Iran, its people and leadership, is confident that Iran is able to overcome the repercussions of the US administration's hostile stance which affects the security of the region and the world," the official source concluded.
The US president announced on Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.
This is while most world powers including Russia, China, and European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also confirmed 11 times that Iran has been committed to its obligations under the nuclear deal.
