France still upholds JCPOA, Macron to call Rouhani soon
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, May 9, IRNA -- In reaction to US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said JCPOA is still in place.
Le Drian made the remarks Wednesday in an interview with German media 'R TL Television'.
He expressed regret over President Trump recent choice, saying US logic is based upon isolationism and is unilateral.
We will attempt to preserve JCPOA achievements through holding talks with all parties and different bodies, French FM said.
President Emmanuel Macron will have a phone conversation with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani soon, Le Drian said.
US withdrawal from Iran Deal will create an unstable situation in the Middle East and will increase the possibility of any conflict in the region, he reiterated.
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.
This is while most world powers including Russia, China, and European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
