Iran: Continuation of status quo for JCPOA intolerable

Sari, April 30, IRNA -- Deputy Foreign Minister for political affairs Abbas Araqchi said continuation of current situation for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would not be tolerable, either US gets out of it or remain, and Iran has taken special measures for the case.

He told reporters here on Monday that Iran has prepared important options for different cases of JCPOA situation.

Araqchi underlined that there are different possibilities for the JCPOA on May 12, 2018, but all senior officials of Iran have consensus on different options, either by US departure from it or not.

He is in Sari, Iran's Northern Province of Mazandaran, to attend the 'first conference on strategies of water resources and environmental challenges'.

Araqchi delivered speech by the title of 'Water Diplomacy' in the conference.

The senior diplomat told reporters that management of water resources of the country is necessary, adding that although water and drought crisis is connected to 'War of Water', the Foreign Ministry is planning the issue in the framework of holding dialogue and cooperation with countries of the region.

He said having special foreign policy to manage water resources of the country is necessary, adding that today water management diplomacy has taken a new form and foreign ministries of the countries in the region are responsible for water crisis.
