Iranian Army unveils latest achievements

Tehran, April 18, IRNA -- The Iranian Army unveiled its latest achievements in making defensive equipment on Wednesday.
On Iranian National Army Day (April 18), the Iranian Army put on display its latest achievements, including the latest version of Zolfaghar tank, two kinds of 23 mm artillery, Scorpion and Kian combat vehicles, marksman rifle, etc.
The Iranian Army had unveiled Shafaq helicopter-mounted missile on Monday.
Iran's National Army Day ceremonies began on Wednesday morning in the presence of the country's President Hassan Rouhani at the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini.
Today's ceremony is attended by a number of senior commanders of Iran's armed forces.
Scores of local and foreign reporters are also present for live coverage of the event.
Thirty years ago on the same day, the US attacked Iran's oil platforms of Nasr and Salman in the Persian Gulf and the Army forces deployed on the platforms were martyred as a result. Imam Khomeini named the day after the Army's sacrifices in defending the country against the aggression.
