Maritime search, rescue maneuver held in Hormuzgan waters

Bandar Abbas, Feb 24, IRNA -- Maritime search and rescue maneuvers were held in Hormuzgan waters enroute Bandar Abbas-Hormuz Island on Saturday afternoon.
Director General of Hormuzgan Maritime and Ports Organization Allah-Morad Afifipour told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the aim of maneuver is to evaluate technical and operational ability of involving forces in maritime rescue operation as well as creating more coordination between naval and relief units to support high number of maritime travels during New Year holidays.
He added that in the maneuver more than 100 persons with five fire-boats, two life-boats, two helicopters and one Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) as well as rescue and the assistants teams are participating.
Hormuzgan province has 14 islands with 10 passenger harbors.
