IRGC arrests 16 ISIS terrorists in western Iran

Tehran (ISNA) – The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) ground forces announced that 16 ISIS terrorists were arrested during an operation in the west of the country.
"Following intelligence activities, the IRGC ground forces' Najaf base on Saturday engaged in clashes with 21 members of the Daesh terrorist group, which had entered the country through its western borders," the commander of IRGC ground forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said.
"During the operation, 16 members of the terrorist group were arrested, several of them killed and two others, who had fled, surrounded by Iranian agents. Three members of the IRGC forces also lost their lives in the clashes," he added.
According to the commander, the terrorists had planned to carry out attacks on central and border towns.
