Iranian Army to hold joint military drills in south-eastern Iran

Tehran (ISNA) – The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran will hold joint military drills on Monday January 22, 2018 in the operational areas of south and south-east of the country in the Makran coastal strip and Sea of Oman.
Iran's deputy army commander for coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said, "The joint military drills code-named Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) will be held on Monday for two day".
"The purposes of the drills are to improve the skill and morale of Iranian forces, transfer the experience of veterans to the youth attending the exercises, evaluate the training tactics, assess the fire power and the level of coordination between forces, bolster the planning potentials for joint drills and operations at all times and finally boost the defense capabilities of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran," he added.
Admiral Sayyari insisted that the drills' operational area will cover all the coastline of Makran region and the Sea of Oman and the Army's ground, air, navy, and air defense forces will participate in the exercises.
