Tehran (ISNA) - The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi warned Tehran would halt the implementation of the additional Protocol if the nuclear agreement is canceled.
"If the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as the JCPOA is canceled, we will stop the implementation of the additional Protocol because we are currently implementing it on a voluntary basis and it is not yet adopted by the Islamic parliament," Salehi said.
Rejecting the unfair and illegal request of US President Donald Trump on the inspection of Iranian military centers, Salehi said, "Iran is committed to the Safeguards Agreement as well as the additional Protocol, but of course our compliance will remain in effect as long as the JCPOA exists".
In case of the cancellation of the nuclear deal, Salehi assured that Iran has not burned all the bridges behind itself, rather "we have built even more bridges to advance."
"If one day the Iranian officials decide that the JCPOA is no longer benefiting the country and order to resume 20 percent-enrichment, we can do this in four days," he added.
