Tehran (ISNA) - Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi emphasized that Islamic Republic would need only five days to ramp up its uranium enrichment to 20 per cent.

Referring to the recent warning of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to the United States on the violation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Salehi said, "It is not an unsupported warning. It is based on data that President Rouhani has".

"If we make the determination, we are able to resume 20 per cent-enrichment in at most five days," he added.

Noting that keeping Fordo's facilities is one of the strengths of the nuclear deal, Salehi said, "This is while they didn't want Fordo to exist and were saying that it should be closed".

"We have consolidated Fordo's facilities in the JCPOA in a way that we can resume 20 per cent enrichment only in five days," he went on to say.
