Iran Leader appoints new Army commander

Tehran, Aug 21, IRNA -- Iran Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on Monday appointed Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi as new Iranian army commander.
General Mousavi was deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces prior to his appointment.
Meanwhile, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in another decree appointed Major General Ataollah Salehi as deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
General Salehi's appointment was made as per a proposal by Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri.
General Salehi was commander of Iranian Army prior to his appointment.
