Iran's missiles not violating Resolution 2231: Spokesman
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that Iranian missile program is only defensive and a deterrent force and does not violate the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 wahtsoever.
To a question about Simorq satellite carrier and remarks made by US representative at the United Nations Security Council about mistrust between Iran and the US, Qasemi said, 'There has been mistrust between Iran and the US, and it's got nothing new, but US recent moves make the wall of distrust between Iran and the US higher than before.'
Stressing that the Iranian missile program is only a deterrent force and does not violate the US Resolution 2231, Qasemi said that the American officials' claim is baseless and is rooted in their 'ill-will' against Iran's defensive power.
