Final phase of Iran's massive naval war game kicks off

Tehran (ISNA) – The final phase of the massive naval drill named "Velayat 95" has been kicked off Sunday morning at the order of Iranian Navy commander rear-admiral Habibollah Sayyari.
During the biggest naval drill which covers an area of two million square kilometers from Strait of Hurmuz, the Sea of Oman, North Indian Ocean and Bab-el-Mandeb to 10° latitudes, surface and subsea floating units of the Navy carrying naval helicopters have been based in predefined locations and depths to form a strategic defense flotilla which is implementing envisaged plans.
Marine and special operations brigades have been simultaneously deployed to across the Mokran coast to a distance of 24 nautical miles equates to 44 km to perform relevant training in line with defending territorial waters.
Other floating units of the Navy such as reconnaissance patrol aircraft, hovercraft as well as drones are also observing all movements in the region.
During this war game, advanced radars and new sonar and chaff systems which are all domestic achievements will be evaluated.
