Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on his official Twitter account criticized the U.S. president Donald Trump' travel ban.
Zarif in a series of posts on his Twitter wrote:
*Muslim ban shows baseless of U.S. claims of friendship with the Iranian people while only having issues with the Government.
*Muslim ban will be recorded in history as a great gift to extremists and their supporters.
*While respecting Americans and differentiating between them and hostile U.S. policies, Iran will take reciprocal measures to protect citizens.
*Unlike the US, our decision is not retroactive. All with valid Iranian visa will be gladly welcomed.
Trump signed an executive order restricting migration from Muslim-majority countries. Under the order nationals of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen are prohibited from entering the U.S. for at least the next 90 days.
