Tehran, Jan 24, IRNA -- The Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says the Unit 1 of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has been shut down for overhaul and fuel replacement.
The Unit 1 of the power plant was shut down for nuclear fuel replacement and annual overhaul, Mohammad Ahmadian said on Monday.
'A total of 6600 million kilowatt/hour power was generated by the unit in 2016-2017 and was delivered to the nationwide power grid,' Ahmadian said.
Ahmadian, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear Power Production and Development Company of Iran (NPPD), said the fuel replacement at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant takes place following every ten months of generating power.
'The fuel replacement operation and an overhaul take around two months to be completed,' he said.
According to Ahmadian, the Unit 1 of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is expected to resume operation and generate power in a few months.
