Supreme Leader: US is not trustworthy

Tehran, Dec 11, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that the US governments have always been at odds with sovereignty of the Islamic states such as Iraq and that no one should be deceived by their smiles.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of the National Iraqi Alliance Ammar al-Hakim and his entourage in Tehran.
The Supreme Leader said that he was pleased with formation of the Iraqi Alliance among Iraqi Shia Muslims and that the move was very significant.
The Supreme Leader advised the Iraqi political parties to protect and bolster pillars of unity in the Iraqi political spectrum.
The Supreme leader also congratulated recent victories of Iraqi forces in Mosul, saying that to achieve such lofty goals is possible only through unity and solidarity and that the government should go ahead with national solidarity.
Supporting the Iraqi governments is among prime duties of the Iraqi alliance, the Supreme Leader said adding that The People's Mobilization Forces (PMF) -- also known as the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) al-Hashd al-Sha'abi) is regarded as a huge asset and a significant reserve for Iraq in all times and should be bolstered and supported.
Strengthening of universities and consolidation of pillars of science and research in Iraq should be heeded because the United States and other enemies have killed many scientists and scholars in the country, the Supreme Leader said.
You should never trust the US governments, the Supreme Leader advised the Iraqi Shia alliance.
The United States always opposes sovereignty and power of the Islamic countries such as Iraq and no one should be deceived by their apparant smiles, Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran could win when they did not trust the US, but, whenever Iran did not consider such a reality and trusted them, it experienced failure, the Supreme Leader said.
Despite of their claims, they never seek to uproot Takfiri terrorism and even try to maintain part of the terrorists for their future goals, the Supreme Leader said.
In Mosul and Syria, the US government is not willing to fully defeat Takfiri terrorists, Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Supreme Leader criticized the United States for inaction at a time when Daesh terrorists were selling Iraqi oil, saying that in that occasion, the United States kept watching the oil tankers and never created obstacles or gave warning to them. 'Therefore, the US is not trustworthy.'
The Supreme Leader said that Iraqi future is very promising, and that the Iraqi success and economic development will be to the benefit of the Islamic Republic of Iran and that cooperation between the two countries will bear fruits for both sides.
The Supreme Leader appreciated the Iraqi people and officials for hosting two million Iranian pilgrims during Arbaeen and called the Arbaeen procession very significant and unprecedented.
Prior to the Supreme Leader's remarks, Chairman of the National Iraqi Alliance Ammar al-Hakim briefed the Leader on formation of the Iraqi alliance and advances to bring about Iraqi national solidarity.
He also congratulated the Supreme Leader for recent victories in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
