TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said that Russian use of Iranian air base in Hamedan Province, western Iran has ended by now.

"What has been done regarding the issue of Russia was a temporary move and under coordination (with Iran). I should stress that Russia neither holds a base in Iran nor it has been deployed in the country. It was a temporary move which has ended by now," he told reporters in his weekly press conference.

Elsewhere, regarding Iran and Turkey's view on Syria, he said, "As I have said before, the issue of Syria is complicated and sensitive. Because of the sensitivity, efforts to settle the crisis have failed so far."

He noted that Iran believes that military solution is not a solution to Syrian crisis. There should be a political solution and it is the Syrian nation which should have the final say regarding the fate of their country.

"We had disagreements with Turkey on Syria and the disagreements partially remain. We do not expect to reach a mutual understanding with a couple of meeting."
