Moscow: Deploying Russian bombers in Iran not against UNSC Resolution 2231

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Russian Defense Ministry said that deployment of the country's bombers in Iran does not run counter to the UNSC resolutions, Russian Interfax news agency reported.

The remarks came as the US State Department spokesman claimed that deployment of the bombers in the air base is against the UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

Russian Defense Ministry approved deployment of its bombers in an air base in Hamedan Priovince, western Iran, saying that it has conducted air strikes against terrorist groups' positions in Syria which destroyed several depots of weapons belonged to the ISIL and Al-Nusra front as well as commanding centers and a number of terrorists were also killed.

Russian Defense Ministry said that Iran has allowed Russia to use the air base in Hamedan for sending the bombers to Syria.
