US not committed its JCPOA obligations: Velayati
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, July 12, IRNA -- US officials are not committed to their obligations enshrined in the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action, Ali Akbar Velayati President of the Center for Strategic Research.
Speaking to IRIB News Agency on Monday, Velayati noted that the United States were not committed to their obligations to the extent that Iran expected.
Iran implemented its obligations enshrined in the JCPOA according to the Islamic principles and the IAEA confirmed this in its reports but the US officials were not committed to their obligations for removal of Iran's sanctions, the member of the JCPOA implementation board said.
Iran has still problems as the consequences of sanctions are being felt in all spheres, including establishment of free relations with the world and the west in areas like trade, finance, science and technology, he added.
Referring to remarks by the Leader suggesting that Iran will not accept any excuse for continuation of sanctions, Velayati said that since the implementation of JCPOA, the US congress and the senate have ratified several bills against Iran signed by the US president.
Not all the 9 conditions set by the Leader about Iran's JCPOA commitments were fulfilled by our negotiators despite all their efforts, Velayati said.
