Iran able to produce indigenous defense, artillery, missile systems

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said that the country is capable of producing defense, artillery and missile systems without any foreign assistance, reiterating that the country would take steps in this field in future.
He also called for taking more steps in future to complete arrays, systems and what is needed in defense levels.
"We should take steps in this field in future," he said, adding, Iran has been equipped with S-300 radar system and would also produce strategic defense system in future.
He said the country's equipment in terms of air defense suffice, adding that "We will build locally what we need for identification, interception and confrontation (operations)."
Dehghan noted that Iran has managed to use S-300 defense system for air defense commanding, and has designed performance and function of the same system locally and would unveil its production line this year.
He said Iran does not have anything called 'locally-built S-300', adding the country has designed a defense system dubbed 'Bavar 373' which is capable of confrontation with cruise system, drones and warplanes and can confront several targets.
