Rafsanjani derides critics of JCPOA, saying they welcome sanctions

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, April 26, IRNA -- Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Tuesday derided critics of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action saying that they used to consider sanctions as a divine blessing.

Ayatollah Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with a group of workers on the eve of the Labour Day.

'Unfortunately, certain people who used to consider sanctions as a divine blessing when they were in charge of the government, they are now finding fault with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and the nuclear deal.'

He said that critics of JCPOA are criticizing the government in defiance of people's views in two elections (in support for lifting the sanctions) instead of rectifying their words and deeds.

He praised designating an international day for workers to demand their rights.

He said Iranian workers celebrate the Labor Day along with the world workers and they have even designated a week for the purpose.
