General Hajizadeh: IRGC's tactics to counter US missile demands
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Jan 30, IRNA -- The IRGC doesn't take as serious the repeated US demands for the restrictions on Iran's missile defense program and capabilities, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said.
'They insist on the issue of sanctions against Iran over its missile program and they expect us to withdraw; IRGC's response to the US demands will be offensive,' General Hajizadeh said in Tehran on Saturday.
He said the American attempts to limit Iran's missile power backfired as Iran's armed forces boosted their efforts and made significant progress in defense.
The US imposed fresh sanctions on some Iranian companies and individuals over a recent ballistic missile test right after Tehran and the world powers started implementation of the July nuclear deal whose key purpose was removal of all embargos against Iran.
The new sanctions prevent 11 entities and individuals linked to the missile program from using the US banking system. Iran reacted to the new move with vows to further make progress in its missile program.
