TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said the country is ready for a deal with US on heavy water.

He also said West's insistence in selling extra heavy water before implementing the JCPOA is an abnormal and unacceptable demand.

Selling extra heavy water is not among conditions for implementing the JCPOA and is possible to be postponed to after implementing the JCPOA, he said, adding, but the other side is insisting on carrying out this phase before implementing the deal.

He called the demand abnormal, and said Iran is ready to sell its extra heavy water in case there are clients.

Salehi said that the country has managed to produce over 160 tons of heavy water, adding 130 tons of heavy water would be stored for the time of launching reactor. Iran has enough heavy water for the time after launching process.

He said Iran plans to sell extra 30 tons of heavy water, adding part of it has not been completely transferred to heavy water and the process would be accomplished in a couple of months.
