Iran's defense minister: Emad missile 'completely conventional'

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said 'Emad' missile already launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran is a 'completely conventional missile.'

"We test fired Emad missile amid pressures and smear campaign launched by them (West) and we announced its range and conditions," he said.

He said that Iran aimed to says one thing to the world through test firing the missile, "The the Islamic Republic of Iran acts based on its national interests and no one and no power in the world may tell our country and nation what to do."

Iran would accept no limitation about this issue, Dehghan said.

He further continued that Iran has not postponed different tests since signing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and P5+1.

Dehghan also noted that Iran has not limited production and research projects or drills following the JCPOA.

Iranian defense minister said that defense is an irrefutable and acceptable right for Iran. "We will design, produce and operate any

conventional weapon or equipment which is necessary to defend the country."
