TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian peace and friendship flotilla left for Russia from Anzali Port, northern Iran.

This is the second visit of Iranian flotilla to Russia. The previous one was conducted in 2013.

Russian naval flotilla has visited Anzali Port three times in 2007, 2014 and 2015 with the aim of boosting bilateral friendly ties and developing naval interactions and peace and friendship between the two countries.

It is expected that the Iranian flotilla visit would last for 14 days. It would dock receptively in Russian Astrakhan and Baku Port in Azerbaijan.

The visit aims to strengthen ties between Iran and other countries on protecting Caspian Sea and developing cultural relations.

The visit comes following invitation of Russian and Azeri officials.

Damavand Destroyer and two other missile-launching vessels are part of the flotilla.
