TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran successfully launched a new generation of ballistic missile (dubbed Emad) on Sunday in a ceremony attended by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan.
"The home-made missile designed and built by researchers and experts of Aerospace Organization of Iranian Defense Ministry is the first long-range missile of the Islamic Republic of Iran which can be guided and controlled until hitting the object," Dehghan said.
He further added that the missile could hit the targets with high precision and annihilate it completely.
The Iranian official said that the country would not get permission from anyone to boost its defense and missile power.
"We will pursue our defense plans, especially in missile fields seriously and Emad (mainstay) Missile is one of apparent examples of these missiles."
He further said that Emad missile would be delivered to the armed forces in the near future and would strengthen their power and tactic and operational capability considerably.
