TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari reiterated that the country has made good progress in building naval equipment including missile-launchers, destroyers and submarines.
"We do not need other countries for providing equipment… We managed to make good progress in building missile-launching warships, destroyers and submarines and we could provide the required equipment," Sayyari said.
He also referred to Iran's mighty presence in high seas, and said, "Today, we can protect the country's transportation lines with dignity in high seas, specially in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea affected by piracy."
Sayyari continued that many countries have been financially affected in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea due to piracy, but Iranian strategic Navy managed to protect trade vessels and oil tankers conducting important missions.
