Iran's missile capability not included in UNSC Resolution 2231: Araqchi
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, July 22, IRNA -- Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Wednesday that Iran's missile capability is not included in Resolution 2231 adopted by the United Nations Security Council on July 20.
Arms and missiles embargoes have been in place from the past, the latest of which dated back to Resolution 1929, Araqchi said, adding that the sanctions have become weaker and were undermined.
The resolution only bans missile activities for carrying nuclear warheads, Araqchi said.
As none of Iran's missiles has been designed for carrying nuclear warheads, Iran's entire missile system is out of the context of the UNSC resolution, he added.
