TEHRAN (ISNA)- The US has attempted to create and lead unrests in certain regional states to prevent Iran's growing clout in the region, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said.
Addressing a ceremony here, Admiral Fadavi said the Americans have tried to stir unrests and exercised plots in certain countries to hurt Iran and its allies, including Lebanon, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and recently Yemen, in a move to start confrontation with Iran.
Stressing that Iran is fully aware of the US weak points and relies on the Islamic Revolution's strong points if threatened on the military, political and economic scenes, he said, 'If even a single bullet is fired (at Iran), the Americans will be the loser' of any confrontation that might ensue.
Fadavi, meantime, downplayed the possibility of a US military aggression against Iran, and said were Washington assured of its success on the military scene, it wouldn't opt for the path of sanctions against Tehran.
In relevant remarks in March, Fadavi underlined that the enemies would never dare to attack Iran because they were afraid of the Iranian Armed Forces' deterrent power.
'Iran's power of deterrence is preventing the enemies from attacking the country,' Rear Admiral Fadavi said, addressing a ceremony in the city of Mashhad, Northeastern Iran.
He noted that the enemies had always been trying to attack Iran, but the Islamic Republic's power of deterrence had prevented them from achieving their goals.
'The Americans and our enemies cannot stand up against the Islamic system's deterrence power no matter how hard they try …,' Rear Admiral Fadavi added.
Also last month, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Iran was unmoved by enemies' war rhetoric due to its astonishing deterrent power, and specially because it had foreseen proper response for all possible scenarios.
He referred to Iran's deterrence power and defensive capabilities to confront enemies' threats, and said, 'We have grown so much powerful that we don't feel concerned about the enemy's unwise attitude. We can go past any enemy scenario, and this has been proved in our contemporary history.'
Stressing that Iran would defuse any enemy plots and scenarios, whether military threats or sanctions, Jafari said, 'The US should find a way to survive and continue its endangered life, but we are surprised at the enemy's insistence on costly and useless scenarios.'
He underscored that Iran's strategies are strong and decisive.
'The country has blocked enemies' path to the materialization of its cruel plots,' he said, adding that Iran now has a wide array of options and is capable of using these different options more than ever.
Jafari underlined that the US and its allies created the ISIL terrorist group to counter Iran's increasing clout in the region, but to no avail, FNA reported.
