Iran unveils new defense achievements

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Ground Force unveiled new defense achievements in a ceremony attended by Commander of the forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan on Wednesday.
'Baher' 62-kg 23-mm sniper weapons with the range of 4 kilometers is one of the weapons. It is armed with anti-armor bullets and has three crew members.
5/14 mm 'Shaher' sniper weapon equipped with magazine and weighs 24 kilograms is the other achievement. The weapon with the range of 3 kilometers has three crew members. It can accommodate five bullets and weighs 24 kilograms.
A four-ton ultra-light vehicle with the operation range of 400 kilometers was the other achievement.
A 7/12 mm machine gun stabilized on a platform can be installed on the vehicle. Its range varies from 100-130 kilometers. The device can be widely used for surveillance purposes.
A remote-controlled armed robot is capable of planning for surveillance and combat missions was the other achievement.
The robot can carry 600-kg consignment and its range hits kilometers.
Iran also unveiled a wheeled tank equipped with eight wheels and four crew members.
