TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said Iran would receive S-300 missile system this year.
"We will sign the agreement on delivery of S-300 missile system in our trip to Moscow. We will receive the system this year," Dehghan said before his departure to Russia for Moscow Conference on International Security.
Dehghan and his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu has already discussed delivery of the systems during Shoigu's trip to Iran.
"Our colleagues investigated details of the agreement last year to deliver the system to Iran by the end of 2015. We also agreed to resolve the issue before my trip to the Moscow Conference on International Security."
Russian side has seriously followed the issue, he said, adding, "We will sign the agreement during this trip."
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a presidential decree on Monday, paving the way for the long-overdue delivery of the missile defense system to Iran.
Under a contract signed in 2007, Russia was obliged to provide Iran with at least five S-300 defense systems.
