TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran plans to unveil new defense achievements, said Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan.

"Wheeled tanks with 99 mm caliber cannon, 4×4 armed robot capable of carrying anti-armored missile, 23 mm sniper rifle able to confront helicopters and 'Shaher' sniper weapon with single magazine will be unveiled," he said.

"We were in an asymmetric atmosphere past years given to presence of cross-regional forces in the region. Now the enemy has shifted its tactics and resorted to proxy war because of its failures over past years. Boko Haram and ISIL are committing crimes on the behalf of the US. We are making ourselves ready for the atmosphere of proxy wars. We are

watching threats and practicing tactics of asymmetric war."

Pourdasan highlighted Iran's progress in making drones and said, "We are trying to increase the range and flight endurance of drones. The Army Ground Force drones would be armed with missile and rocket next year."

He also referred to Saudi-led Arab military aggression against Yemen, and said, "Saudi Arabia will be defeated in the aggression, because Yemen is a resistant and brave nation. I, as a military man, recommend Saudi Army to stop aggression."
