Supreme Leader's envoy defends Zarif-Kerry walk

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Kerman, Feb 8, IRNA -- After accepting the necessity of nuclear talks finding faults with details such as Zarif-Kerry walk on sidelines of the nuclear talks is out of context, said Leader's representative in Kerman and city's Friday prayers leader on Sunday.

'Let us put aside finding phony faults, since if we have accepted the basis of negotiations, what difference doest it make whether Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the US Secretary of State John Kerry will sit at the table, or talk on walk?' said Ayatollah Seyyed Yahya Jaafari in a meeting with an adviser to the education minister.

'We have accepted the basis of the negotiations, upon approval of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and President Rouhani appointed the Iranian foreign minister, who is involved in the negotiations about the nuclear dispute,' he added.

Ayatollah Jaafari praised the Iranian nuclear negotiations team for their hard working characteristic, arguing that whether or not the talks may yield results.

'The Exalted Leader of the Islamic Revolution said from the very beginning that he is not optimistic about the outcome of the negotiations, but prayed for the nuclear negotiations team's success. We, too, hope for the success of them,' said the Leader's envoy in Kerman.
