Iran stresses implementing Iran-Russia military agreements

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan stressed implementing military agreement between Iran and Russia.

In a letter to his Russian counterpart, Sergey Shoigu, Dehghan called for implementing military agreement signed between Tehran and Moscow.

He also accepted Shoigu's official invitation for taking part in the 2015 international security conference, and called the Russian official's recent travel to Iran as a turning point in bilateral ties between Tehran and Moscow especially in military and technical domains.

Dehghan said that implementing articles of the deal a is step forward in bilateral relations between Tehran and Moscow.

Over the last several years, Iran and Russia have had vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres.

Late January, Russian President Veladimir Putin in a meeting with Iranian Supreme Leader's top aide Ali Akbar Velayati emphasized the need for strengthening relations between Tehran and Moscow in different fields.

During the meeting, Putin welcomed promotion of mutual cooperation between Iran and Russia.

Velayati, for his part, submitted a message from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to his Russian counterpart.

Velayati and Putin also discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues in an hour-long meeting.
