Boosting Army capabilities in line with Leaders guidelines
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Bushehr, Dec 6, IRNA -- Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army Major General Ataollah Salehi said on Saturday that upgrading Army capabilities is taking place in line with guidelines of the Supreme Leader and is by no means related to diplomatic moves or their outcomes.
Addressing a ceremony in this southern provincial capital city, the commander said materialization of the instructions given by Supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for further strengthening of Irans Armed Forces was the main objective of the Army.
Army is increasingly boosting its power and this has nothing to do with the diplomatic measures and their outcomes, he stressed.
He added it is surprising that some have been mixing Armys efforts to improve its powers in various fields with diplomatic measures.
Renovation of military equipment in a year which is dubbed the year of Economy and Culture through National Determination and Jihadi Management is a source of pride for the Iranian Army, Salehi stressed.
In a recent address to the military officials, Ayatollah Khamenei had stressed that the Iranian military forces should steadily work to increase their capabilities regardless of political considerations.
The Leader had also referred to the no-war era as a chance for armed forces to make progress in various fields.
