TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran inaugurated production lines of three main radar systems, designed and developed by Iranian experts.

'Electronic industries of Iranian Defense Industry have designed and built different types of high-tech electronic equipment to provide updated and smart tools for armed forces. Production lines of main radar systems is an example of which,' said Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami.

He said the radar systems can detect aerial targets from low and high altitudes, as well as stealth aircrafts, fighter jets and cruise missiles.

Hatami continued that the radars can be used in war and electronic wars, and are capable of detecting anti-radar missiles.

One of the radars dubbed Hafez 'Protector' is a mid-range one able to detect all aggressive flying objects, including fighters, drones and cruise missiles in low and mid altitudes, he said, adding it can transmit their positions, ranges and altitudes to fire-control radar.

The radar can do well in facing multiple threats as well, Hatami said, adding, it can detect targets 250 kilometers away and intercept 100 targets and update their positions' data every few seconds.

'Hafez' Radar can work round the clock and can start operation shortly. It is armed with advanced and anti-electronic war high-tech and can do well in different weather conditions.
