Iran inaugurates oxygen 18 production unit at Arak, new control panel of Tehran research reactor

Tehran, April 9, IRNA -- Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali-Akbar Salehi on Wednesday inaugurated an oxygen 18 production unit at Arak site and new control panel of Tehran research reactor.
Salehi ordered the unveiling of the two achievements in National Day of Nuclear Technology via videoconference while he was in Tehran to inaugurate an exhibition to display Irans nuclear achievements.
Salehi said Oxygen 18 which can be used in medical treatment, industry and environmental activities is produced in Iran for the first time.
Meanwhile, on the new control panel of Tehran research reactor, Salehi said the new control panel is one of the most modern control panels and the first ever one designed in Iran.
Irans nuclear chief noted that during Irans nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 in the past, the Western nations offered to design and construct a new control panel for Tehran research reactor and enrich uranium up to 20-percent for Iran, what Iran rejected.
