TEHRAN (ISNA)- A member of Iranian nuclear negotiating team Majid Takht-Ravanchi reiterated that the country would not discuss defense and missile power in its negotiations with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.

'Articles on missile issues and defense power are beyond the scope of talks and we will not accept it,' he said.

'The final step of negotiations is one of the issues. If the preliminary document of Geneva deal is referred to, it will be shown that the additional protocol should be first approved by the parliament and then signed into law to be practiced,' he said as asked about acceptance of Additional Protocol by Iran and negotiations on the issue during talks between Iran and G5+1.

He also said raising discussions on Iran's defense and missile programs would damage the process of negotiations.

'Iran's (enrichment) right as a NPT member has been recognized, and we do not need to be recognized by the other countries. This right should be respected.'

Iran's rights have been secured in the Geneva deal, he said.
